PRIVACY & COOKIE POLICY
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains which personal data Genaio collects, why we use it, who receives it and which rights you have. It applies to www.genaio.com, to our webshop and to visits to our showroom.

1. Who we are
Genaio is a brand of Signofix, which is responsible for your personal data.

2. The personal data we collect
We collect only what we need to serve you.
- Contact details: first and last name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address.
- Order details: the items you buy, exchange or return, and your correspondence with us.
- Payment details: the payment method and confirmation of payment. Card details are entered directly with our payment provider. We never see or store them.
- Appointment details: what you tell us in the Visit by Appointment form, such as your wishes and preferred way of contact.
- Measurements: for tailor made clients, your body measurements and fitting notes. We use these only to make and adjust your garments and shoes.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login and order history. You can also order as a guest.
- Website data: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and items placed in your cart, collected through cookies (see section 6).
- Reviews and images: a review you write, or a photo you send us or tag us in.
3. Why we use your data
We use your data only for the purposes below, each on a legal basis under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not make automated decisions that have legal effects for you.
4. Who we share your data with
We share your data only with partners who need it to carry out their work for us. Each of them may use it for that purpose alone.
- Shopify: hosts our webshop and stores order and account data.
- Payment providers: iDeal, Apple Pay, Bancontact, Google Pay, Klarna, Maestro, PayPal, Visa, Mobile Pay, MasterCard, American Express, Shop Pay and Union Pay and the other payment methods shown at checkout process your payment.
- Carriers: DHL, UPS and FedEx receive your name, address and contact details to deliver your order.
- Klaviyo: sends our newsletters and review requests.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram): receives website data through marketing cookies, only if you have given consent.
- Our ateliers and craftsmen: receive the measurements and specifications needed to make your tailor made order.
- Advisers and authorities: our accountant, and tax or other authorities where the law requires it.
- Fraud prevention services: where needed to check a payment or prevent misuse.
Some of these partners, such as Shopify, Klaviyo and Meta, are based in or store data in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. In those cases your data is protected by safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your data no longer than needed for the purpose it was collected for.

6. Cookies
A cookie is a small file that our website places on your device. We use three kinds:
- Necessary cookies make the website and the checkout work, for example by remembering your cart and your country. These are always active.
- Analytics cookies show us how visitors use the website, so we can improve it.
- Marketing cookies, such as the Meta pixel, let us measure our campaigns and show you relevant advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
Analytics and marketing cookies are placed only after you have given consent in the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings. The website and checkout keep working without them.
7. Newsletter
We send our newsletter only if you have signed up for it. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe by writing to customercare@genaio.com.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- see which personal data we hold about you
- have incorrect data corrected
- have your data deleted
- restrict or object to our use of your data
- receive your data in a format you can pass on to another party
- withdraw a consent you have given, at any time
To use any of these rights, write to customercare@genaio.com. We reply within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity first. If you have an account, you can also change your details yourself after logging in.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), to the authority in your own EU country or, in the United Kingdom, to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
9. How we protect your data
Our website uses an encrypted connection (SSL). Payments are handled by certified payment providers, and access to customer data is limited to the people who need it for their work. We have data processing agreements with the partners named in section 4.
10. Children
Our website is not aimed at children. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian for permission before you place an order, create an account or send us your details.
11. Other websites
Our website may link to other websites, such as social media. This policy does not apply to them, so please read their own privacy policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when the law or our services change. The latest version is always on this page, with the date of the last update at the top. For important changes we will inform you by email or on the website.
