Suits

"A good suit changes how you walk into a room. Your shoulders settle, your back straightens, and you no longer think about what you are wearing."

Ours is made for you alone, in the way that suits you best: fully bespoke, with a pattern drawn from your body, or su misura, made to measure and shaped to your figure. In both, artisans in Portugal make it by hand, and the Italian cloth, the cut and every detail are yours to choose.

No pulling, no adjusting, no second thought. That is the perfect fit.

Introduction

Your visit begins with a conversation, at your pace, in our showroom. Our master tailor shows you how a suit is made and asks about you: your work, your days, the occasions ahead.

Measure & Styling

We take your measurements by hand and study how you stand. Then the cloth, from houses such as Loro Piana, Zegna and Holland & Sherry, and the cut, the canvas, the buttons and the lining, chosen with you.

Fitting & Pick-up

About four to six weeks later your suit arrives at the showroom. You try it on with our master tailor, who checks every line and refines what needs refining before you take it home.

Su misura

Our sartorial story

A suit begins long before the first stitch. It begins with you: how you stand, how you move, where you are going, and how you wish to feel when you arrive. So we start by listening. Only then is the cloth laid out across the table and the silhouette drawn to your figure.

What follows is the work of craftsmen. Our suits are made in Portugal, by hands that have spent a lifetime learning one thing and doing it well. They are the heart of Genaio. We simply bring you closer to them, and ask a fair price for what they make.

The soul of a jacket is the part you never see. Ours are built in half canvas or full canvas, always with a minimum of three layers, so the chest holds its shape, the lapel rolls softly, and the cloth settles to your body a little more each time you wear it. We do not fuse. Should you prefer something lighter, we make it unconstructed: no canvas at all, only cloth and cut, as easy as a shirt. There is nothing in between, because in between is where the compromises are.

Then come the details that only a trained eye will notice, and that you will feel every day. Each button is finished with the Ascolite® shank wrapping, the thread wound tight and sealed beneath it, so the button stands proud of the cloth, closes cleanly, and stays where it belongs for years. The shape of the lapel, the style of the buttons, the colour of the lining: each choice is yours, and each one brings the garment closer to your own creation.

This is the art of Genaio: honest craftsmanship, shaped in harmony with you. We do not compromise. We deliver what we promise.
